When experimenting with growing coffee across the country’s plantations, the French colonialists found suitable planting sites for each coffee variety. Areas with favorable climatic and soil conditions for coffee development will be expanded, similarly eliminating areas for low-yielding coffee.
Currently, there are many famous coffee growing regions in Vietnam such as the Central Highlands, the South, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, and Nghe An. However, the Central Highlands is home to the most suitable climate provinces for coffee growing, especially Gia Lai and Dak Lak.
Here, coffee plantations of excellent quality and very high yield were born. In addition, Da Lat and Lam Dong with conditions of temperature, water source, altitude and light are also very favorable second places for Robusta, Bourbon, Moka coffee varieties to live.
